Au Pair Program in Canada

As the second largest country in the world, Canada has lots to offer!

Maple syrups, moose and majestic Niagara Fall, icy winter with lots of skiing opportunities, and turquoise lakes to hike to!

How about spending a year living with a Canadian host family to help out with childcare while you learn about its culture and languages, and traditions?

 

What are your duties?

you have a duty of 30 to 40 hours per week (depending on the host’s requirements)
help the host family with childcare related work (for e.g.: drop off or pick up children from school/day care, prepare lunch boxes and snacks for children, entertain or plan activities for the children)
help out with some household chores (grocery shopping, vacuuming, loading/unloading dishwashing, laundry etc.)
babysitting in the evening

Who are we looking for?

between 18 to 30 years old (for some nationalities: 35)
single, not married before, and has no dependent
at least completed your high school or secondary school
preferably at least 200 hours of non-family childcare experiences (with 2 references)
able to communicate in English fluently
meet the requirements for Canada Working Holiday Visa*
driving license is an asset
no criminal record
healthy
be committed to join the program for 10-12 months (extension is possible, but only for certain nationalities)
have at least a fund of CAD$ 2500 for travel expenses

What would you receive?

the host family will pay pocket money of a minimum of CAD$ 15 to $ 16.75 per hour depending on which county you are placed in
2 days off (generally weekend) each week
other benefits negotiable with your host family
