The program combines cultural exchange with structured support, and au pairs may even follow online training or diploma programs while staying with their host family.
Requirements to Au Pair in France
To participate in the au pair program in France, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Have basic French or English communication skills
- Show genuine interest in childcare and cultural exchange
- Have a clean criminal record
- Provide a medical certificate of good health
- Previous childcare experience (formal or informal) is an advantage
- Hold a valid passport from a country eligible for a long-stay visa

Costs Au Pairs Are Responsible For
Au pairs are responsible for covering:
- Visa application costs (for stays longer than 3 months)

- Personal expenses
- Any additional costs not specified as included
Important Information
- Working hours are 25–30 hours per week
- Duties mainly include childcare and light household tasks
- Au pairs must have their own private room
- A signed host family agreement (“Contrat d’accueil”) is required
- Minimum stay is 3 months, with options up to 12 months
- Long-stay visa support is provided for stays over 3 months
